  Fisichella gets another year with Renault

So much for all that silly-season stuff I posted yesterday. Right on cue Renault have announced that they've agreed a one year extension to Giancarlo Fisichella's contract. I should have seen this coming when Flavio bid £25,000 for an oil painting of Fissi at a recent charity auction in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. I mean you don't buy a painting of a driver you're about to sack, however generous you are.

That narrows things down a bit in the driver market. I still expect Renault to give Heikki Kovalainen the other seat for 2007. That gives Kimi Raikkonen the choice of moving to Ferrari or staying at McLaren alongside Fernando Alonso. Then again, Renault could prove me completely wrong again tomorrow :)
